Sahrawi imminent human rights defender and President of Sahrawi body against the Moroccan occupation (ISACOM), Aminatu Haidar, is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021 for her peaceful campaign for an independent Western Sahara, according to the agency Reuters.
Reuters evokes nominations supported by various international actors, including Norwegian lawmakers, who propose names of candidates and support them.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee, which decides who wins the award, does not comment on nominations, keeping secret for 50 years the names of nominators and unsuccessful nominees.
The 2021 laureate will be announced in October.
