Representative of the Polisario Front to Europe and the European Union (EU), Oubi Bouchraya Bashir welcomed the decision of the Spanish Central Investigation Court to “drop the charges” brought by an association affiliated to Moroccan intelligence services against Secretary General of the Polisario Front, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Brahim Ghali, describing the decision as a new victory for the Sahrawi people’s struggle.

“The Court has ruled once again in favor of the Sahrawi people and delivers another fatal blow to the Makhzen regime and its plans to confiscate the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence,” said Oubi Bouchraya regarding the decision of the Spanish court on the dropping of charges contained in the complaint brought by the so-called association against President Ghali in 2008.

“The Spanish court has reiterated the assertion of the Polisario Front which denied from the beginning, in block, the allegations made by the association affiliated to the Makhzen regime,” he added.

According to Oubi Bouchraya, the accusation of the Sahrawi president is a “political issue directed by the Makhzen regime, with the aim of damaging the image of President Ghali and, in turn, of the Polisario Front and the struggle of all Sahrawi people.
