Egyptian Foreign Minister: Egypt is committed to UN Security Council resolutions related to Western Sahara issue

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, on Tuesday participated on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the summit of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union held via video conference, to discuss the issues of climate change and Western Sahara.

With regard to Western Sahara, Egypt called for adherence to the relevant international Security Council resolutions on the Western Sahara issue and support for efforts to reach an agreed political settlement in accordance with the resolutions and endeavors of the United Nations and the troika mechanism on the Western Sahara issue, established by a decision of the Nouakchott summit in 2018.

She stressed that Egypt will spare no effort to support endeavors on the Western Sahara issue.
