Ramtane Lamamra, AU high representative for Silencing the Guns in Africa, has stressed that the failure to end the long-standing decolonization process in Western Sahara was a matter of concern.
In an article published by the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes, Ramtane Lamamra expressed concern over the lack of resolution for the long-standing decolonization issue in Western Sahara, as well as the continuation of armed conflicts in the continent.
Speaking on the process to silence guns in the continent, Ramtane Lamamra confirmed that armed conflicts had robbed Africa of more than $100 billion since the end of the cold war in 1991.
