Russian-Sahrawi talks in Moscow on prospects for settlement of conflict

The special representative of the Russian president for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhaël Bogdanov, who is also the Russian deputy foreign minister, received on Wednesday in Moscow a delegation of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, in order to examine the prospects of settlement of the Western Sahara conflict.

The Sahrawi delegation was composed of the special envoy of the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Abi Bouchraya Bachir, the coordinator with UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), Sidi Mohamed Omar, and the Polisario representative in Moscow, Ali Salem Mohamed Fadel, who conveyed to the Russian official President Ghali’s greetings and the Polisario Front’s constant willingness to conduct talks and achieve a peaceful solution to the conflict.

The Russian official expressed his country’s support for UN efforts to resolve the conflict between the two sides in accordance with international law and legality.
