The ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Algiers, Abdelkader Taleb Omar said Tuesday that the Sahrawi President Brahim Ghali was convalescing in Spain after recovering from the Covid-19.
Affirming that President Ghali has not received any summons for investigation, Mr. Taleb Omar stressed that the media uproar over the Sahrawi president was part of a propaganda campaign conducted by Morocco to disrupt the Sahrawi cause.
The makhzen regime tries through the mobilization of some mercenary pens to divert attention on the Sahrawi cause by rumors and lies, said the Sahrawi ambassador, who denied these unfounded stories.
Morocco is trying, through this media war, to conceal these violations of human rights in Western Sahara, especially after the breakdown of the ceasefire agreement, he said.
For his part, the representative of the Polisario Front in Spain, Abdullah Arabi denied what was reported by the media about the alleged summons by the Spanish judiciary of the Sahrawi President and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali.
Morocco is conducting a campaign of disinformation, as part of psychological warfare, on the one hand, and a campaign of “provocation and blackmail” against Spain, on the other hand, in order to influence its position on the Sahrawi issue and lead Madrid to rebel against international legality, he stressed.
The Sahrawi Presidency denied, in a statement, the receipt by President Ghali of any summons from the Spanish judiciary, stating that this is a rumor peddled by the Makhzen regime because of its state of despair that led it to blackmail the Spanish government to make the choice between it and the Sahrawis.
