Spanish Court closes case against President Brahmi Ghali, another setback for Moroccan Makhzen

The Central Investigation Court in Spain announced Thursday the closure of the case of the complaint filed in 2008 by an association affiliated to the Makhzen against Sahrawi President Brahim Ghali, declaring inconsistencies between the charges contained in the complaint and the testimony of witnesses.

The court states that there is a clear lack of relevant details on the place and time of the alleged facts and the position held, then, by President Ghali, and which according to the Spanish justice undermines the credibility of testimony and therefore prevents the prosecution against him.

The decision of the Spanish Court is a new slap in the face for Morocco, which has mobilized its diplomatic apparatus and its media to discredit the Sahrawi president.
