In an interview with “La Razón” newspaper published on Friday, Spanish Foreign Minister, Arancha González Laya, acknowledged Morocco’s rage over Spain’s decision to receive Sahrawi President Brahim Ghali, saying “what has happened was our neighbour Morocco rejected humanitarian action we have taken towards a person suffering from Covid-19”.

“We all know that Brahim Ghali is the Polisario Front and that the the Polisario Front is the Western Sahara, if the question is that through this humanitarian axtion Spain is taking sides in the conflict over Western Sahara, then the clear and loud answer of the government is no.”

“Spain has not changed its position, this dispute needs political containment that must be negotiated within the framework of the United Nations, because this is what guarantees legitimacy and a stable and lasting peace, this is the central position of Spain that respects international legitimacy, it is the position of the European Union as well,” she added.
