A special contingent of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out an attack on a guard post of the 2nd Battalion of the 9th armored corps of the Moroccan army, killing enemy soldiers and seizing military equipment and personal documents, according to the communiqué No. 89 of the Sahrawi Ministry of Defense.
According to the communiqué, “this morning, Monday, 08 February, a special unit of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army launched a direct attack against the guard headquarters of the 2nd Battalion of the 9th armored corps of the Moroccan army of occupation, stationed in the Orukziz Mountains in the Agha sector, inside the Moroccan territory.
The successful raid resulted in complete control and destruction of the targeted point, the killing of the Moroccan guard commander, a non-commissioned officer called Al-Nakaa, and the killing of three guards, among them a soldier called Zouali.
The attack also resulted in the capture of military equipment: BKT machine gun 1-593, Kalashnikov MH 0819, Kalashnikov NG8528, in addition to Personal documents of the Moroccan guard.
