Britain’s Secretary of State for the Middle East and North Africa, James Cleverly, stressed Tuesday that support for human rights was a priority around the world.

In a written response to questions from British MPs on Moroccan human rights violations in Western Sahara, the British minister called for improving the human rights situation in Western Sahara.

The British official stressed that his country encouraged Morocco and the Polisario Front to work with the international community to develop and implement independent and credible measures to ensure full respect for human rights and respect for relevant obligations under international law.
