Spokesperson at the US Embassy in Algeria, Paul Wulfsberg, reiterated on Saturday the United States’ position of support for any UN-led political process in Western Sahara that would bring peace to the region.
In response to a question about his country’s position on the Sahrawi issue and the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, while participating in a historic symposium on John F. Kennedy’s support for the Algerian revolution, Mr. Wolfsburg clarified that “the Position of the United States on the Sahrawi issue is clear, we want a UN-led process that leads to an agreement acceptable to all parties and leads to peace in the region.”
